Our online Quran Memorization (Hifz) course is designed for students who dream of memorizing parts or the entirety of the Holy Quran. Students work 1-to-1 with certified Hafiz/Hafiza teachers holding high-linked Ijazahs, using structured, customized memorization plans that balance new verses (Sabaq) with revision sets (Sabqi and Manzil). We utilize modern revision loops that guarantee permanent retention of the verses in the student's long-term memory.
Our Three-Step Hifz Methodology
To successfully memorize the Quran without forgetting it, we implement a traditional three-step framework tailored for online learning:
- 1. Sabaq (New Lesson)
- The daily new verses that the student memorizes. The tutor listens to the student recite this portion, correcting any Tajweed or pronunciation errors immediately before it is stored in memory.
- 2. Sabqi (Recent Revision)
- Revision of the verses memorized in the last 15-20 days. This is the most crucial step, as recent memorization is vulnerable to being forgotten. Consolidating this portion daily locks it into memory.
- 3. Manzil / Daur (Old Revision)
- Continuous review of all previously memorized Juz (parts) of the Quran. Students repeat older portions in a rolling loop (at least half a Juz daily) to maintain fluency forever.
Who is Eligible for Hifz?
Because memorizing the Quran requires correct pronunciation from the start, we require that students possess strong Arabic reading capabilities and basic Tajweed rules before joining the Hifz program. This prevents students from memorizing verses incorrectly, which is very difficult to unlearn later.
Course Goals and Progress Monitoring
Our Hifz portal provides weekly progress charts. Parents receive detailed notifications indicating which verses were memorized, the grade of the recitation, and the revision plan. We support various goals: full Hifz, memorization of Juz Amma (last part), or specific Surahs (like Surah Al-Mulk, Surah Yaseen, or Surah Al-Kahf).

Complete Online Quran Memorization (Hifz) Program
Memorizing the Holy Quran (Hifz) is one of the greatest spiritual achievements a Muslim can attain. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "The one who memorizes the Quran will be with the noble and obedient scribes (angels)" (Sahih Bukhari). At Al-Ilm Academy, we provide a structured, supported, and personalized Hifz journey that accommodates students of all ages — from young children to working adults — across the globe.
Our Proven Hifz Methodology: Sabaq–Sabqi–Manzil
Sabaq (New Lesson)
Daily fresh verses memorized and recited to the tutor for correction and approval.
Sabqi (Recent Review)
Revision of the last 15-20 days of memorization to lock it into long-term memory.
Manzil (Old Revision)
Rolling review of all previously memorized Juz to maintain permanent fluency.
How Long Does It Take to Memorize the Entire Quran?
The time required to complete full Hifz depends on the student daily memorization capacity, age, and consistency. Here is a general timeline guide:
- Full-Time Hifz (1 page/day): Approximately 20-24 months for the entire 604 pages
- Part-Time Hifz (half page/day): Approximately 3-4 years alongside school or work
- Juz Amma Only (30th Part): 2-4 months for beginners
- Selected Surahs: Varies by Surah length (e.g., Surah Al-Mulk in 2-3 weeks)
Tips for Successful Quran Memorization
- Consistency Over Quantity: Memorizing a small amount daily and revising thoroughly is far more effective than memorizing large chunks sporadically.
- Early Morning Sessions: The best time for memorization is after Fajr prayer, when the mind is fresh and distractions are minimal.
- Use One Mushaf: Always memorize from the same physical or digital copy of the Quran to build visual memory of page layouts.
- Recite in Salah: Practice newly memorized verses during your daily prayers to reinforce retention.
- Listen to Reciters: Regularly listen to renowned Qaris like Sheikh Mishary Rashid or Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais to internalize correct pronunciation and melody.
